Everett Clay Sports and Holiday Calendar
After a long and successful run, we will be retiring the printing of our annual Everett Clay Sports and Holiday Calendar. Introduced in 1966 to coincide with the first Super Bowl played on January 15, 1967, the calendar was published to provide devoted sports fans with the schedules of mainly Florida’s college football teams. With the addition of new schools and professional sports teams, the calendar was expanded from two panels to eight panels and folded accordion-style.
Our last printing for the 2007/2008 season included the schedules of five Florida college football teams, four professional South Florida sports teams, the dates for major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, the College Bowl games series and baseball’s World Series, as well as specialized events and religious holidays. It was the 42nd annual edition of our calendar.
To our fans, we have enjoyed bringing you the calendar for the last 42 years. And it has been rewarding to see how well received it was each year, but with the electronic availability of the same information online, fans no longer need the inclusive and reliable Sports and Holiday Calendar.
We have taken pride in carrying on this tradition in honor of the memory of firm founder, Everett Clay (1914-1985).
