Medical
Everett Clay Associates (ECA) has developed a specialty for medical public relations in the past 35 years. Its work with both local and national medical groups has included clients having internal staffs and those needing programs directed by a fully staffed agency.
ECA has served more than 100 clients in the health care industry, including physicians, hospitals, HMO’s, primary care clinics, pharmaceutical companies and other medical entities. ECA has helped to maintain the reputation of its medical clients by promoting quality of service, new equipment and medical procedures and community programs.
Hospitals
For Pan American Hospital, ECA provided crisis management for media stories related to the union and bankruptcy proceedings, while also generating recognition of top administrators and assisting in the design and placement of advertisements. ECA launched and operated the highly successful South Florida News Bureau for the 14 Tenet Healthcare facilities throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Efforts focused on positioning Tenet physicians as experts in their respective specialties. ECA represented three other national health care groups: Columbia/HCA, Humana and AMI.
Grand Openings
ECA executed numerous PR programs surrounding the grand openings of new medical facilities and renovations of new centers. Examples include the highly anticipated openings of Cleveland Clinic Hospitals in Naples and Weston, which enjoyed successful community turnout for their open houses.
Special Programs
ECA conducted a two-year program concerning CPR community training, which brought North Miami General Hospital national recognition and numerous public service awards. This highly publicized program became the national prototype for hospital CPR programs.
ECA created an intense media education and outreach campaign for the Dan Marino Center in Weston, which resulted in annual print and broadcast impressions exceeding seven million dollars.
HMO’s
ECA provided media relations for Finley HMO and Vista Health Plan. Throughout Vista’s purchase and merger process, ECA worked to ensure compliance with the Florida Department of Insurance. ECA also conducted a two-year campaign to help the fledgling HMO, Patient Care of America, gain investors and launch a business and consumer recruitment program.
