Challenge:

  • Position the Graham Companies’ long-standing family vision to create a live, work and play environment for the tri-county area.

  • Create an awareness of the diversity and mix of quality properties available and attract more prospective buyers and renters of commercial, industrial and home properties, as well as "move up" opportunities for residents and tenants.

Approach:

  • Identify media opportunities to position Miami Lakes as the "new town" development and South Florida’s future.

  • Capitalize on existing promotional activities such as the Miami Children's Hospital Telethon and Christmas Pageant, as well as create new opportunities such as a CEO tour, Dairy Festival and sports packages.

  • Spearhead efforts to create a unified brand for Miami Lakes including all commercial, retail, residential and industrial properties.

  • Provide crisis management services when needed.

Results:

  • Secured media coverage in The Miami Herald, South Florida Business Journal, The Review, Miami Today, Diario Las Americas and Unique Homes.

  • Initiated regular production of a Miami Lakes calendar listing all events for residents, tenants (residential and commercial), employees and customers.

  • Created new media opportunities by offering the experts at the various Graham Companies (Miami Lakes Development, Inc., Miami Lakes Inn, Athletic Club and Golf Resort and Miami Lakes Properties, Inc.) for stories on trends in Northwest Dade County, landscaping commercial developments, mixed-use centers, historical prospective and milestone announcements.

  • Provided crisis management when a small plane crashed from a local private airport into one of the residential developments.
