Coral Rock Academy Opens in Miami

Coral Rock Academy

Challenge:

  • Coral Rock Academy, a new school designed to educate children with neurological, psychological and socialization disorders, is opening its doors in Miami. The school is the first of its kind in Florida. Symmetry Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Marty Steinberg, managing partner of the law firm Hunton & Williams in Miami, was created to develop Coral Rock Academy.

  • Because ECA believes in giving back to the community, the firm offered its time and resources, pro bono, to help promote the establishment and opening of Coral Rock Academy. As this is a new school, the main goal was to inform the community about Coral Rock Academy and all the resources it offers for special needs children.

Approach:

  • ECA pitched the opening of the school to local reporters specializing in education. A press release was distributed in English and Spanish to local media about the new school and a media alert was sent out on the day of the open house.

Results:

  • The education reporter from The Miami Herald attended the Coral Rock Academy Open House along with a photographer.

  • A two-page article with photos was published on the front page of the Metro section of The Miami Herald. It featured interviews with the founder of the academy as well as parents interested in enrolling their children. The article also explained Coral Rock’s individualized curriculum to meet the needs of every child enrolled. The article was also translated and appeared in El Nuevo Herald.

  • ECA generated approximately $47,117 in news coverage for Coral Rock Academy.
